An inside peek at Derby Day LA – a Kentucky Derby party
This is the only list you’ll need to read when casting this year’s ballots at your Oscar party
Haughty, spooky, and super fun, Hocus Pocus at Rockwell is everything you hoped for.
When the Kentucky Derby comes to LA, all bets are off.
Last week, the geniuses behind the Celebrity Edge, the newest ocean liner from Celebrity Cruises, revealed their breathtaking new ship in collaboration with Design Ambassador, Nate Berkus. Measuring at 1,004 feet with a cruising speed of 22 knots, it not only will operate beautifully from a technical perspective, but will also redefine luxury in the amenities it offers to its guests. The staterooms available on the new ship are essentially penthouses that overlook the sea. Infinite verandas will takes guests to the water’s edge with the push of a button and the Italian-crafted Exclusive Cashmere Collection makes up the bedding, so even when you sleep, you’re basically dreaming in the language of luxury. There’s also a Magic Carpet, a floating platform that levitates thirteen stories above sea level where guests can dine, lounge, and take in the views while the ship is sailing, but also drop down onto the water…
Last night, melodic songstress, Victoria Noyes, entertained guests at Bel Air hotspot, Vibrato Grill, Jazz, Etc., where she performed a slew of classic and modern songs with her own personal touch. Victoria – Tori, to her friends – is a Chicago native and praised singer-songwriter who has performed at top LA establishments, like The Sayers Club, and opened for Hollywood heavyweights, Joe Jonas and Kane Holler. You might have heard her belting out tunes if you’re a frequent Pottery Barn shopper; she wrote an original score, lyrics, and sang on a new song that the retailer bought and played in stores across the United States. Additionally, she has an EP that will be released this August. Until August though, Tori sings at Vibrato, like she did last night, where she raises lounge singing to a whole new level. Once she took the stage, everyone went nearly silent, and once she…
OH EM GEE, you guys. Send help. We’re currently still suffering from going into Chocolate Cardiac Arrest. This past Sunday kicked off the Annual Indulge LA Chocolate Festival, which was *choc* full of some of the most satisfying chocolatey treats and wine selections at the Omni Hotel in Downtown LA. The theme for the event was Alice in Wonderland – and what could possibly be more wonderful than a land in which chocolate and wine are the main sources of sustenance? Talk about antioxidants! The festival brought together different vendors who concocted an array of sweet treats for everyone to try. From flavored baklava to chocolate truffles, chocolate meatballs to cannolis, the whole ordeal was as sweet as you could possibly imagine. AND, the best part, was that there was chocolate available for the true connoisseur – dark, white, milk, and beyond – chocolate that was bitter, sweet, and confections…
Local families and their children with special needs hit the beach last weekend in Montauk for an incredible two-day surf therapy event and casual fundraiser, presented with support from John Paul Mitchell Systems, Corey’s Wave, The Sax Leader Foundation, and EIR. On Saturday night, the community came together at The Montauk Beach House for a fundraiser to support A Walk on Water (AWOW) and its growing presence on the East Coast. A Walk On Water (AWOW) enables hundreds of children and adults with special needs, along with their families, to experience the thrill of surfing and its therapeutic qualities. The organization works closely with local communities, businesses, and volunteers to bring together a shared mission of helping others experience the calming and therapeutic effects of the electrifying, living ocean; and, in the process, showcasing the best of surf culture. Building on the success of the 2015 event in Montauk, in…
Labor Day Weekend in the Hamptons is synonymous with The Hampton Classic; the eponymous horse show that beckons celebrities and the creme de la creme of New York society out east to partake in equestrian festivities, daring displays of athleticism, and of course, extravagant parties. One such event that took place was the annual Hampton Classic Benefit Luncheon, hosted by elite riders, Georgina Bloomberg and Jimmy Torano. Fresh off his High Performance Hunter Championship win, Torano emceed the event benefitting horse charities, including Georgina’s The Riders Closet providing special needs and underprivileged riders with equipment, and Give a Buck, offering scholarships for disabled children and veterans at GallopNYC. Chris Burch’s Nihiwatu, named the #1 hotel in the world by Travel + Leisure was auctioned for a cool $2,000. More than 150 well-shod guests saddled up for the cause sponsored by Douglas Elliman and One River Point. See some of the…
It’s always liberating do to something by yourself, completely on your own, especially when you haven’t been independent in a long time. Vegas by yourself though, that’s a whole ‘nother enchilada… The Chainsmokers were playing at Wet Republic, a.k.a. the BEST POOL PARTY in Vegas. Due to my love of the band and anything having to do with partying poolside, I knew it was the perfect event to attend. However, it had been a while since I had really gone on a signature “Kyle Adventure”. Remember the Golden Globes sneak attack? Having food fights with celebrities in the Hollywood Hills? I needed to rediscover my joie de vivre and Vegas was the venue. Without any kind of plan, I put on a bathing suit and tank top, then a pair of jeans and button-down shirt over top of them. I threw on some kicks, stuffed my phone charger, wallet, keys,…
Last Sunday, the inaugural #ChampagneSociety Brunch at Bagatelle kicked off to rave reviews as the entire staff wore one-of-kind designed apparel, guests partied the day away, and we nearly sold out of all the Hamptons to Hollywood apparel at our very first Pop-Up Shop. Even some LA press outlets made the rounds to catch a glimpse at how the #ChampagneSociety revels. From bachelorettes living their last weekend of freedom to chic housewives fleeing their families to dance on tables for an afternoon, the patrons of the event ran the gamut demographically-speaking, but all had one thing in common; a burning desire to have fun, which we can totally appreciate. The good news? Hamptons to Hollywood and Bagatelle will be teaming up for even MORE #ChampagneSociety brunches thanks to the success of this one. More info will be available soon, but expect more popping bottles, even more notable attendees, and brand…
The old adage is true; the world looks better through rosé-colored glasses – at least it did when La Nuit en Rosé touched down at The Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles. I was able to attend one of summer’s best kickoff events with fellow bloggers, Mitch Swan of Cavalier Crew and Brielle Galekovic of The Gilded Bellini. Upon entering the Sunday Pool Party at Skybar, the three of us were greeted to a variety of rosé sampling stations that truly sensationalized the palate. Being a HUGE fan of rosé, I was obsessed with SO many of the varietals that the festival offered, it was simply impossible to choose a favorite. Wine aside, one of the most exciting aspects of the party was the effortless summer vibe that was exuded from every corner of Skybar. All of the attendees were excited to start the summer season and because of that, there…
