Sometime you just need to relax. That’s kinda what I did this weekend. Though I suffer from FOMO like it’s going out of style (that stands for “Fear Of Missing Out” if you live under a rock), sometimes you just need to take a break from the hectic LIVING you find yourself doing and treat yourself to some R&R.
Next weekend will be a big one for me because there will most likely be LOTS of partying happening. SIDENOTE: MY IPAD JUST FELL OFF THE COUCH AND CRASHED TO THE GROUND AND MY NEIGHBOR STARTED BANGING ON MY WALL TELLING ME TO SHUT UP AS IF I’M HAVING A WILD ORGY AT 1:38 AM. BUTTTT I digress. ANYWHO. Where was I? Ah, yes. Next weekend. Binge drinking. So, in an effort to upkeep a successful lifestyle when you have big plans looming, I find it best to put yourself on a schedule; this includes diet, responsibilities, and social engagements. How can you manage it all? I’ve got THE SECRET – it’s preparing ahead of time and combing them together.
MEAL PREP: This is essential when you have a busy week ahead. Monday-Thursday I’ll be doing a semi-cleanse so I can look cut and svelte in a bathing suit if my clothes happen to fall off while partying (because we all know stranger things have happened). This week I’m going to be doing a lot of soups. All you have to do is grab your favorite low-sodium broth, your fave veggies, and blend them together in a few batches after your Sunday brunch. Feel free to garnish with some chicken for that added protein!
FITNESS: Again, I must look sexy by Friday, a plight I am confident I’m not alone in. So what does that mean? GYM, bitches. Either go early in the day, or as soon as you get off work so it feels like it’s a part of your work day. That way, you won’t have time to get home, sit on the couch for 15 minutes, and make up excuses for yourself as to why you should skip chest day. JUST GO.
SOCIALIZING: But you promised you’d meet your friend for drinks this week? No prob! Instead of drinks, invite them to that Bikram Yoga class you’ve been wanting to try out. OR a Spin Class that pumps out bass-heavy tunes while you sweat – you’ll feel like you went dancing together at a club AND you won’t suffer from a hangover the next day!
It’s all about consolidating your priorities and getting creative as to how you can meld them together! At the start of your week, write everything down you want to accomplish and then prepare ahead of time as to how you can create ways to do it all. As long as you stick to the schedule you create for yourself, you should be in the clear. And it’s only for 1 week. If it works outs, continue for week 2, and so on!
