Hello Champagne Society! A couple weeks ago I was honored to have my first promotional event for Uncharted Waters. Book Soup, arguably the most well-known book store in Los Angeles, was the venue for the evening as I discussed and signed my first novel. You can buy it HERE. I was thrilled to see lots of friends and even some newcomers come out and support my literary venture. The turnout was great and I couldn’t have asked for a more engaging crowd. Lots of questions flew my way which I was more than happy to answer, and I gave a history as to my motivation for writing the book and how much of my baby it turned out to be. Afterward I hosted a lively Happy Hour at Bar10, where the gracious staff named a specialty cocktail after my book for the evening. The whole night was a ton of…

Claire Buckingham: is she really the perfect girl society thinks she is? What could she be hiding? The third main character for my upcoming YA Novel, Uncharted Waters, is Claire; a New York socialite and debutante who seemingly has it all. Back to the Hamptons from a year away at her Ivy League college, Claire is excited to focus on spending time with family and friends during the summer months and stay away from all the boy-drama she suffered through during her first year away at college. But when she and her best friend, Kingston, meet a couple of mysterious visitors and reunite with old friends, the drama she so ardently wanted to escape all comes rushing back at her and she’s forced to keep a secret from her friends and family. To make matters worse, her meddlesome mother, despite Claire’s protestations, wants her to find a man to settle…

Kingston Lang: the lovable narcissist, tabloid target, New York playboy, and Hamptons veteran doesn’t know who his enemies are. Thinking his summer would be like every other one in the past, he heads to the Hamptons to his family’s summer home for some surf, sun, and fun, but instead is greeted with uncertainty, manipulation, and danger. After two newcomers catapult themselves into Kingston’s life and his world is turned upside down, he’s not sure whether the visitors or his longtime friends are his real allies, sending him diving into uncharted waters he’s never had to tread before. Armed only with his intuition and self-confidence, Kingston has to choose between his head and his heart…but will he make the right decision? Make sure to order your copy of Uncharted Waters on Amazon to find out what happens to Kingston!

Uncharted Waters, is finally here! BUY UNCHARTED WATERS on Amazon! Who’s excited!? Uncharted Waters, by Kyle Langan, takes place in the Hamptons, hence the relevance to this blog 🙂 The Hamptons were always a HUGE source of inspiration for me growing up because of the lifestyle, beauty, and focus on creativity that goes on there. It only made sense that when I wrote my first book, the Hamptons had to play a major part. And truly, though the book centers on a squad of 4 main characters, the Hamptons truly acts as the fifth. SO. Who are these four main characters? First up, we have Amelia Colombo. And while I won’t go into too much detail so as not to give anything away, Amelia is clearly, as the headline suggests, running from something…or someone. Shipwrecked in the Hamptons, her only choice is to use her resourcefulness, wit, and determination to…

ATTN: Champagne Society, SO. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I WROTE A FREAKIN’ BOOK! Yeah, it’s true, one of my lifelong dreams is actually coming to fruition. Way back in 2009, while I was studying abroad in Australia having the time of my life, I went through a period of a few days where I really started to miss my core group of friends from my college back in the States. As it turned out, I channeled that creative energy into my favorite form of art, namely writing, and somehow this story POURED out of me. Seriously. It’s like it wrote itself while my fingers just tapped the keyboard. The book is a Young Adult Novel where most of the characters featured are based on exaggerated incarnations of important people in my life. Just before Christmas this past year I submitted the manuscript, after not having looked at…
