On Wednesday, men’s lifestyle and grooming brand, Baxter of California, hosted their 50th anniversary at their barber shop in West Hollywood – and I was there to give you an inside peek! After working with Baxter previously, I was excited to celebrate their longevity and craftsmanship at being one of the BEST lifestyle men’s brands available today. As you know, I don’t publicize for brands that I personally don’t believe in, so Baxter holds a special place in my heart. The event was fun and lively, with live music pulsating, delicious original cocktails and hors dourves, and complimentary touch ups for all the gentlemen in attendance. Baxter partnered with the Surfrider Foundation for their anniversary, a cause special to their hearts that preserves the world’s oceans and beaches – which is extremely important to me as well. LA or the Hamptons wouldn’t be the same without pristine coastline! The companies teamed up…

2014 marked my first annual Friendsgiving Festivities. I know. How did I go this long without partaking? But you know what? This year was one of the best Thanksgivings ever.I mean, I made a chocolate cheesecake FROM SCRATCH for crying out loud (look for the recipe soon!) and I was equally as impressed with the culinary skills of my friends. Our feast was QUITE the smorgasbord. My first time away from home on a holiday was 2005, I was a junior in High School, had my first job at ShopRite (woof), and had to work on Thanksgiving. Imagine my enthusiasm. My family had vacated our suburban hometown and jetted who knows where to some fabulously festive throw-down while I was stuck in a parking lot pushing shopping carts in 30 degree weather. After I was off-duty I sprinted home and one of my favorite friends, Marissa, who had graciously invited me…
Hope everyone is excited for tonight! What are YOU dressing up as?? As for myself, well, I’ll give you a little teaser…The above photo is either going to be after two shots of vodka, or may just indeed be my Halloween costume. Either way, you’ll just have to wait for a recap over the weekend. I’ll be going to the GINORMOUS West Hollywood Halloween Party this evening, which I’ve never attended, but am super excited for. And because I’m sure there are going to be some wild antics as usual, make sure you follow me on Twitter & Instagram (@kyjolang) as I’ll be live tweeting/social media posting for as long as I can – before my mental faculties nose dive into Liquor Land, that is. Have Fun and Be Safe everyone! Share your Halloween plans or favorite traditions below!
So I have HUGE news, you guys – yours truly, and this very blog you’re reading, is going to be featured on the SIDE OF A BUS! So instead of Ellen, picture ME! A few weeks ago I was contacted by Zeusvision, a new advertising company that is revolutionizing the ad game by making advertising affordable for the everyman. In short, we partnered together and they’re going to advertise my blog and I as one of the first multimedia ads that will run on their new fleet of buses around Los Angeles! Advertising in LA is usually dominated by highly coveted billboards along Sunset Boulevard that are splashed with gorgeous Gucci models, leaving the kindly family who has owned the Italian restaurant on Melrose for 40 years in the dust because even if they wanted to advertise their eatery in a big way, they can’t compete with the high real…
Need the PERFECT smoothie to kickstart your morning? I have the delicious recipe right here…I’ve been back on my health kick as of late, partly because Ashlee Adams is coming to town and I know that unhealthy choices of debauchery and waking up in pile of my own Taco Bell chalupa wrappers might inevitably commence, so I needed something of a cleanse beforehand. Luckily, I’m creative in the kitchen and whipped up this morning pick-me-up:Ingredients:* Almond Milk – Roughly 1 cup* 1 Banana* Fage Greek Yogurt – Heaping Tbspn* Peanut Butter – Heaping Tbspn* Cinnamon – Eyeball it* Honey – Few squirtsPrepare:- Slice up your banana and add it, with the Almond Milk, into your blender.- Add the heaping spoonful of yogurt (above).- Drop the dab of peanut butter into a microwave safe dish and heat it for, like, 30 seconds, or until its melted. This makes it easier to blend…
Fashion Week has descended upon LA and I was invited to the VVV Magazine Party at the Continental Club in Downtown LA.The event was to launch the Conviction Issue and was co-presented by Wilhelmina Models. Tunes were spun by DJ Daisy O’Dell and the event blended fashion professionals, models, celebrities, and LA socialites all eager to get a new look at mag that had a special editorial spread with Carmen Electra. Signature Continental drinks were served to an amazing crowd that danced the night away in designer duds, because everyone was dressed to impress. It WAS Fashion Week after all. Duh.Below are some the notable attendees, who were the best dressed ladies there, in my opinion. This summer was one of the best of my life. Not only did I make a plethora of new friends, I also kicked my blog into high-gear on a professional level and launched a bunch of exciting projects that I am super thankful and proud to be a part of. It was definitely a work-hard, play-hard season. And yet, while I only have fond memories since Memorial Day, some of the most horrible things happened to me. I lost a friend, my apartment was destroyed in a flood, I broke my foot, my car died, and someone smashed the shit out of my brand new car. But it just goes to show that no matter how badly life can seem, the good always outweighs the bad in the end. Call it the power of positive thinking, call it being optimistic, but I finally feel comfortable and genuinely happy to be where…
If you were already sick of seeing me in numerous bathing suits, I’m sorry to say that the shirtlessness is far from over because as of this weekend, I was officially named the U.S. Brand Ambassador for Syndicut London! In addition to swim trunks, they also offer boxer shorts and more exciting merchandise that will be coming soon. The brand will be launching a new website shortly as well, but until then you can check out all of their great products in their STORE and use the promo code “KYLE10” to receive a discount on the shorts! Summer isn’t OFFICIALLY over until September 21st, so while the air and water is still warm, I’m hitting the beach every chance I get. I rocked a new pair of trunks yesterday to the coastline and they may top the list as my new favorite bathing suit: Syndicut Trunks.Syndicut is a UK-based swimwear and underwear brand for men that brought together a team of talented designers to create a new style of boxer shorts after being frustrated by what they were finding in stores. The success of the undie line prompted a swimwear line next, which uses a plethora of cool colors and designs to really make you stand out on the sand – and in the best possible way.I hit the beach with friend & photog Andrii and his bounce-board for the day girl, the hilarious Alla, and rocked the “Mosiac”, designed by Fergus McDonnell. Soft to the touch,…
I broke my foot. More specifically, my heel. Here’s a tip, kiddos – don’t drink and CLIMB.On Saturday evening I was out for a night on the town after an epic boat excursion, going from bar to club, celebrating the last weekend with a pair of beautiful Aussies and friends. I ended up at one club and got caught talking to a friend when the group I came with said they were leaving and told me to catch up with them later. After a few drinks I said goodbye and headed for the door to exit said club. Now, the exit is NORMALLY through a door right off of an outdoor patio. There’s a six or seven foot wall surrounding the patio and the door lets out into the parking lot. Well, on Saturday, this door was locked. Now, let’s be honest, I was drunk (sorry, Mom). There was a line of…
