March is a special month at Hamptons to Hollywood, namely because it’s my birthday, but also because it’s the commencement of spring and an aura of new beginnings fills the air just as the flowers are beginning to bloom again. Our March Restaurant of the Month was a special locale I’ve been dying to visit, The Malibu Café, and it might have been my favorite restaurant recommendation yet. The entire #ChampagneSociety filed into an appropriately white (can you say on-brand?) stretch limo in Hollywood before speeding off to the hills of Malibu just in time for Sunday Brunch. The Malibu Café is sprawling ranch rolling over acres and acres just inland from the pristine coastline. Some of your favorite shows have been filmed there, so the locale has its roots deep in Hollywood culture. The layout of the restaurant is large and open, with melodic country tunes dancing all across…
Last week, the geniuses behind the Celebrity Edge, the newest ocean liner from Celebrity Cruises, revealed their breathtaking new ship in collaboration with Design Ambassador, Nate Berkus. Measuring at 1,004 feet with a cruising speed of 22 knots, it not only will operate beautifully from a technical perspective, but will also redefine luxury in the amenities it offers to its guests. The staterooms available on the new ship are essentially penthouses that overlook the sea. Infinite verandas will takes guests to the water’s edge with the push of a button and the Italian-crafted Exclusive Cashmere Collection makes up the bedding, so even when you sleep, you’re basically dreaming in the language of luxury. There’s also a Magic Carpet, a floating platform that levitates thirteen stories above sea level where guests can dine, lounge, and take in the views while the ship is sailing, but also drop down onto the water…
When springtime is budding, at Hamptons to Hollywood, we think green. Green leaves on the trees, luscious lawns in both the Hamptons and Los Angeles, and yes, even green apparel as well. For gentlemen, joggers are the perfect springtime trouser choice. Not only do they evoke the casual luxury Hamptons to Hollywood prides itself on, but they also show ever the slightest bit of ankle, almost acting as pregame for your legs before summer comes around. These green joggers styled by Founder, Kyle Langan, are ultra affordable (H&M) and also give us cheery warm vibes for the new season. Easy to move in, they are the perfect pant to wear on-the-go – either to run errands or to run to your friend’s house to plan your next summer getaway. Always busy, Kyle was running a few errands, with a Soupure Soup in hand, before heading off to an afternoon of…
[Editor’s Note] ***Spring Discount*** – Receive 10% off your next bill at The District by Hannah An when you tell your server/bartender you heard about this review on Hamptons to Hollywood. Sale runs now through June 30th and excludes alcohol. Cheers! Let’s face it, this time of year is usually bleak. While we’re waiting on warmer weather and the promise of spring, the one place we’ve been able to find solace is in one of Los Angeles’ most sought-after eateries, The District by Hannah An. ***You know it’s legit when Beyonce eats there. Between the Vietnamese-inspired aura of the establishment, killer staff, and extremely sociable owner, Hannah An, the restaurant utterly lives up to its reputation as being “the culinary answer to happiness.” Not only are some of Hollywood’s most exclusive events held there (seriously), there’s hardly a month that goes by where there isn’t a marriage proposal or where…
2.2.17 5:50 AM Was the soup cleanse sneakily making me rise earlier each morning? I wasn’t sure, but even as I merely lied in bed Instagramming, I felt all the more productive for it. I woke up to second day of Energize Soup and Energy Tea, because apparently I’m supposed to feel energetic during the middle of the cleanse, and was actually feeling pretty good. Though it reportedly takes 21 days to make a habit, I kind of was getting used to my soupy breakfast. 10:30AM I warmed half of the Savory Broth because I had a lunch meeting that I knew might run late, so wanted to be prepared early. I liked this broth a lot more than the Miso one; it left me warmed and feeling cozy. 12:00 PM For my lunch I dined on steamed green beans and Seabass, which were both good, and a welcome departure…
Let’s get S O U P Y. Honestly, I could not have been more excited about my latest dietary adventure. After working with Soupure last year for a mini-cleanse, I was beyond stoked when they reached out to me again, wondering if I wanted to take my love for “soup-ing” to the next level. Obviously, I said yes. If you’re not familiar with Soupure, it’s a Brentwood-based company that offers Soup Cleanses in lieu of the popular Juice Cleanses. While juice cleanses can be effective in shedding weight, they often leave you malnourished and, well, miserable. A Soup Cleanse on the other hand, ensures your body is getting a variety of nutrients, it’s more satiating, and warm soup in the winter – it’s like the ultimate comfort food. The Healthy Foundation Reset, however, combines Soupure’s usual cleanse, but ups the ante with three daily teas to consume in conjunction with…
Finally writing about our amazing first trip to San Fran! We headed north from our usual Hollywood Headquarters to the Bay City to ring in 2017. It was a really exciting trip all around, but even better because we were able to visit Hamptons to Hollywood VIP, Sean, who’s a San Fran local. The first night included an evening pub crawl, despite some frigid temps, to some famous bars in the San Fran vein. After being warmed by some liquor we headed home to rest up for a day of exploring. The next morning, a hike to the Golden Gate Bridge – that was possibly the highlight of the trip – was totally invigorating and exciting, until, that is, I fell into what basically constituted a huge puddle of quicksand and sank up to my knee in mud. Theretofore, the hike back to the car wasn’t as invigorating as the…
We’re throwing shade in style this season. While it rarely rains in Southern California – save for today ironically, as I’m writing an editorial about sunglasses – these shades are a MUST HAVE to protect your eyeballs from harmful UV rays. Rainforest Sunglasses, recently featured in GQ, are not only a stylish eyewear option, but is also a company with philanthropic values. For each pair purchased, a portion of proceeds are donated to Rainforest Trust, a nonprofit conservation organization that helps to purchase, protect and safeguard tropical habitats to save endangered species by working with local organizations and communities throughout Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The spectacles are constructed from high-quality sustainable wood that offers a sturdy structure, polarized lenses, and amazingly flexible hinges so they won’t break as easily as that cheap pair of sunnies you picked up from your local drugstore. Another cool feature? The luxe lenses also…
